Abe Goldfarb Joins the Cast of WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE: THE MUSICAL

Complete casting has been announced for WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE: THE MUSICAL™ ahead of the production's official world premiere and "Take a Shot" tour launch in Phoenix later this month. The show will run in a limited three-week engagement from Saturday, May 28 through Sunday, June 19 at Phoenix's Herberger Theater • Stage West before departing on an open-ended national tour that continues through Louisville, Ky., Fort Worth, Texas, and Philadelphia, Pa., with sit-down companies and international productions of the show currently in development. The tour follows a sold-out tryout show of the musical at the Art Park Players in Deer Park, Texas last August. For tickets and up-to-date information on the "Take a Shot Tour," visit www.womenofacertainage.com.

In this outrageously funny hit, Abe Goldfarb (Broadway's "Beetlejuice" and has voiced several Pokemon characters) plays six different lovers, foils, accomplices, and one extremely British television singing competition judge. Goldfarb is joined by the hilarious trio of Andrea Canny (37-year onstage career and opened Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage at MGM Studios in Orlando), Fredericka Meek (TV actress and one of two "Coquettes" that performed with Conan O'Brien in his "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television" tour), and Sheri Sanders (Rock the Audition founder and 'Little Becky' in the national tour of Urinetown).

After putting their dreams on hold to raise families and build careers, Bev (Andrea Canny), Max (Fredricka Meek), and Lulu (Sheri Sanders) are ready to grab life by the mic, reclaim their college dreams of being singing sensations, and compete for glory on the hit TV singing competition American Starmaker! They've rehearsed for weeks and nothing is going to stand in their way -- except, apparently, the show's age limit. Turned away for being too old, they take matters into their own hands to capture the attention of the show's brutally honest judge: one way or another! Armed with nothing more than a few arcade game guns, some cookies, and new-found voices, hilarity ensues as the madcap characters of WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE: THE MUSICAL™ go to outrageous lengths to prove there's no age limit on taking a shot at your dreams. Especially when karaoke night is so easy to take hostage.

Shirley Johnston and Doña Oxford join as off-stage singers and understudies and T.J. Mannix stand-bys for Goldfarb.

With a score of infectious original songs by Jeff Thomson (Music) and Jeremy Desmon (Lyrics), WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE: THE MUSICAL™ features an original side-splitting book by Desmon, direction by Natalie Nucci ("Menopause The Musical") and choreography by four-time Ovation Award-winner Lee Martino. The design team for WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE: THE MUSICAL™ features multiple Emmy Award-winner Andy Walmseley (Set Design: "American Idol," "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire," "So You Think You Can Dance," "America's Got Talent," "West End & Touring: Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story," "Blood Brothers"), Steve Shapiro ("Sound Design"), and Ryan A. Patridge ("Menopause The Musical," "The Bronx Wanderers - Las Vegas," "Austin City Limits"). The tour features vocal direction by Andrew David Sotomayor (Tours: "Tootsie - The Musical," "Margaritaville - The Musical") and Adam MacDonald (Tours: "Wicked," Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas") and band arrangements and performances by Tony and Grammy-Nominee August Eriksmoen (Broadway: "Come From Away," "Hugh Jackman: Back on Broadway," "First Date").
