Robert Browning Associates and Roulette Present Guillermina Quiroga Company with Mariano Logiudice Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet

Famed Argentine dancer/choreographer Guillermina Quiroga, one of the world's leading tango dancers, will be joined by her longtime partner, Mariano Logiudice, dancers Adriana Salgado and Orlando Reyes, and the Latin Grammy award-winning Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet (bass, violin, bandoneon, piano) in Tango in Concert, a brilliant program that brings to life the passion, soul and beauty of Argentine tango.

The concert will feature classic, traditional and modern styles of tango, and original compositions by Pedro Giraudo.

Guillermina Quiroga, a celebrated tango dancer, choreographer and master teacher renowned for her appearances in tango shows on Broadway and at international festivals, has been called the "Queen of Tango." Guillermina is from La Plata, a seaside town outside Buenos Aires where she studied ballet and performed at the prestigious Teatro Argentino de La Plata, an important classical arts school and performing arts center in Argentina. In 1988 she entered the world of the milongas in Buenos Aires, becoming the partner of choice of the seasoned milongueros, and in 1989 won the Buenos Aires City Tango Championships. Since taking her first tango lesson in 1988, she has dedicated herself to mastering the art of tango. Her extensive credits include the mythical Tango Argentino and Forever Tango on Broadway; several films including Assassination Tango (2002) and Valentina's Tango (2007); world tours with singer Julio Iglesias; performances with the Luis Bacalov, Mariano Mores, Pablo Ziegler and Color Tango orchestras; her own tango show, Tango, Historias Breves; and choreography for "Libertango" for the 1998 Olympic ice dancing gold medalists Oksana Grishuk and Evgeni Platov. She has influenced the role of women in tango, and trained many of the world's favorite tango dancers.

Mariano Logiudice has taught and performed with Guillermina at numerous tango festivals around the world. Before he became immersed in tango, he was a martial arts world champion and a sports teacher. He studied tango with such prominent teachers as Raul Bravo, Juan Pablo Barbutti, Guillermina Quiroga, Andres Cejas, Olga Besio, Demian Garcia, and Julio Balmaceda. He graduated from university in Argentina as a psychologist with the thesis "Tango y vejez"(Tango and the Elderly) which explored the benefits of tango dancing on older people. This led him to creating a new activity that mixes tango dance with physical education. With Guillermina, he started a new discipline: the union of tango dance and psychology as therapy for people with physical and emotional needs. In 2019, he appeared in the rock opera Evita at New York City Center with Guillermina.

Adriana Salgado and Orlando Reyes, who have been professional dancers and teachers of Argentine tango for over 25 years, were the US Champions at Tango Salon 2021 and Stage Tango 2019. From Bogota, Colombia, they have a background in classical ballet and began studying tango in Buenos Aires under the auspices of renowned tango masters. Their international performances include the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Aruba, Argentina, Canada, Indonesia, and their native Colombia. Since 2007, they have been based in New York and taught and performed at many tango venues nationwide.

The Pedro Giraudo Tango Quartet is a virtuoso quartet that is one of today's most compelling tango ensembles. The ensemble serves as an active ambassador of tango and a proponent of its evolution. The quartet's fervent musical style takes elements from Argentine tango, European classical music, and American jazz, bringing something new and exciting to the form while retaining all the lushness and beauty that characterizes the genre. The ensemble features four of the most prominent musicians in the tango world. Pedro Giraudo, bassist, composer and arranger, has performed with the most important interpreters of tango for two decades. He recorded on Ruben Blades' Tangos CD, which won both a Grammy and a Latin Grammy, and also performed with Paquito D'Rivera, Pablo Ziegler, Hector Del Curto, and Luis Bravo's Forever Tango. His Vigor Tanguero CD was recorded with his quartet and won the Latin Grammy in 2018 for Best Tango Album. Nick Danielson (violin) is Assistant Concertmaster of the NYC Ballet Orchestra and enjoys a distinguished career in both the classical and tango worlds. Rodolfo Zanetti (bandoneón) is recognized as one of the most distinguished solo bandoneonists in the US, and has performed at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. Ahmed Alom (piano) has been considered a prodigy since the age of 14, winning numerous international prizes in piano competitions; he is now living in New York, where he continues to garner acclaim.
