Feature: INDONESIA KAYA Presents PAYUNG FANTASI Musical Web Series

The culture and art foundation Indonesia Kaya is once again teaming up with Garin Nugroho and BOOW Live to produce a musical web series. Called SERIAL MUSIKAL PAYUNG FANTASI (lit. Parasol of Fantasy Web Series). The series is inspired by both the musical compositions and biography of Ismail Marzuki, an Indonesian national hero and musician. The musical series is available on Indonesia Kaya's YouTube channel.

Feature: INDONESIA KAYA Presents PAYUNG FANTASI Musical Web Series

PAYUNG FANTASI consists of six episodes, adapting the story of composer's life from his birth to the end of his life. The script is also partially inspired by a biographical book wwritten by Ninok Leksono. The soundtrack incorporates more than 25 songs of Ismail Marzuki's own composition, including classics Halo-halo Bandung, Gugur Bunga, and Rayuan Pulau Kelapa.

The series is a collaboration between producers Billy Gamaliel, Bayu Pontiagust and Fia Cinte. The creative team includes Pasha Prakasa as the theater director, Naya Anindita as film director, and both Chriskevin Adefrid and Teguh Yasa Abratama as playwrights. Ivan Tangkulung serves as music arranger, Nesia Ardi as vocal director, and Nyak Ina Raseuki (Ubiet) as musica and vocal consultant. The series also features choreographies by Ufa Sofura.

The lead role of Ismail Marzuki will be played by singer and actor Gusty Pratama, who also played in TEMAN's production of HAIRSPRAY back in 2019 as Corny Collins. Playing opposite him is soprano Mariska Setiawan as Eulis Andjung. The series also features Sal Pribadi, Afgan, Daniel Adnan, and Titiek Puspa.
