Full Cast Announced For LAND OF THE SWEETS: THE BURLESQUE NUTCRACKER at The Triple Door

Verlainie & McCann prepare to open their much-loved holiday tradition Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker next week at The Triple Door. Set to feature a cast of indomitable dancers and entertainers from the Seattle area and beyond, this season's Land of the Sweets boasts some fresh and exciting casting surprises. Single tickets are on sale now for performances running December 7-30 at The Triple Door - reserve seats today at TheTripleDoor.net.

Now in its 16th season in Seattle, Verlaine & McCann work to invigorate Land of the Sweets year-over-year, improving upon the production value through scenic enhancements, added costuming elements, revitalized choreography, and most recently, through the addition of a completely original, Tchaikovsky-inspired feature length score performed live by The Nutcracker Nonette - a nine-piece jazz orchestra.

Every year features astounding dance talent from some of the most coveted ballet corps from around the country, as well as some of Seattle's favorite burlesque performers - and this season is no exception! Audiences of this season's Land of the Sweets can look forward to performances from returning Verlaine & McCann alums Davione Gordon, Trojan Original, and Tom-Tom The Phenomenon as a rotating cast of Rat Kings, Las Vegas Showgirl Ballerina Laurel Bordeaux returns to her role as Marzi the Shepherdess, aerialist Vivian Tam returns as the high-flying Angel, and former Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo dancer The Duchess Sinclair (Christopher Montoya) joins the cast as Rosette The Snowflake.

This season, Verlaine & McCann have one more big surprise for audiences. For the first time ever, producers are introducing two new local faces to the show's host role, originated by Producer, Performer, and Composer, Jasper McCann. This season, local entertainers Glory Joel (5th Avenue: Disney's Beauty and the Beast) and Bailey Legal will both play the role - Joel will perform on the weekdays and Bailey will perform during the weekend performances

"Fresh perspectives have become increasingly important as we strive for continued evolution here at Verlaine & McCann," said Jasper. "I've never been to step outside of the work, and I hope aspects of the character that I have yet to see come to light in the performances of these talented young artists. I know that they'll do right by the character as I focus on growth and expansion here at Verlaine & McCann. Maybe you should consider attending twice!"

Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker is conceived, directed, and produced by Lily Verlaine and Jasper McCann, from an original idea by Lily Verlaine. Choreography by Lily Verlaine. Book and Original Songs by Jasper McCann, with jazz arrangements of the Tchaikovsky score by Jasper McCann, Kate Olson, and Michael Owcharuk.
