A monodrama about Jan Karski, a courier, enthusiastically described by reviewers
of the Polish Underground State, will be shown in Poznań on February 4.

Art invites the viewer to explore their own soul. Are we doing enough to help others? Or maybe we are heartless or we pay too much attention to what divides us? - this is an excerpt from the Washington Post review after the premiere of the play depicting the fate of an emissary of the Polish Underground State.

The role of Karski is played by David Strathairn, nominated for an Oscar for the film "Good Night and Good Luck", (also known from the films "Lincoln" or "Nomadland"). The role of the actor in the performance was assessed by critics as outstanding.

The monodrama poses questions about the human condition, about our attitude towards manifestations of evil, injustice and harm. It mobilizes people to take responsibility and engage in social issues, and its message is very topical in the context of the war in Ukraine.
The legacy of Jan Karski obliges us not to look away when the weaker is harmed. He puts the good and interest of another person above his own, replaces egoism with empathy, and fear with courage.

The show's co-author and director is Derek Goldman, an award-winning theater director and playwright. Together with co-writer Clark Young, they created a monodrama at Georgetown University's Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics, with the support of the Jan Karski Educational Foundation and the Jan Karski Educational Foundation.

The performance has already been warmly applauded in London, Bilbao, Washington, Chicago, New York and San Francisco, and thanks to the efforts of the Jan Karski Educational Foundation and the Jan Karski Educational Foundation, it will also be shown in Poland. It will be available on February 4 at 7 p.m. 19:00 in Aula Artis Poznań (Collegium da Vinci, ul. Kutrzeby 10).
