The Glam-Rock Musical Sensation with Music and Lyrics by Stephen Trask and a Book by John Cameron Mitchell is back in Austria for a limited run at the Vindobona. What a way to start the year. After Hedwig's first appearance in 2006, starring Andreas Bieber in the Leading Role and Anke Fielder as Yitzhak and the highly acclaimed production at the Landestheater Linz with Riccardo Greco in Heels and Ariana Schirasi-Fard as his Backup-Singer it's Drew Sarich together with his wife Ann Mandrella, to tell the story of Hansel Schmidt and his Angry Inch.

Sarich is no stranger to the part, he wore the wig in Berlin in 2002. Sarich got this incredible talent bringing something unique to every role he played, something hard to describe but you literally can't escape.
We are used to his ability to create huge emotions as he has proven it several times ( e.g., his interpretation of Gethsemane), and just let's make it simple, he is doing it again.

Of course, Sarich knows how to rock, but Hedwig is much more than just a Rock Show. It has a lot of heart, and apart from all the glam rock, there are many gentle yet intimate sections, a fine line you have to handle.
Sarich can do both, the stunning queer rock queen and, on the other hand, the tortured erratic soul.

Long story short, Sarich is a rockin' Sensation in Heels!

Hedwig's husband, Yitzhak, is stunningly tetchy, portrayed by Sarich's wife, Ann Mandrella. Audience members might not have recognized her because of the Make-Up Artists' great work. The couple's performance filled the room with extraordinary catching energy, something you must experience!

Gnosis!

Well-deserved Standing Ovations for the first Opening Night of 2023.
Wolfgang Ebners Vindobona ( he fell in love with the show after seeing it back in the days Off-Broadway) is now the official home of this First Class Musical Punk Rock Rollercoaster. Usually planned for a limited ten performances run, the show should expand due to its vast demand. A considerable start to a promising (Musical) year.
