Theater St.Gallen Presents LOOT - LITERATURE AND THEATRE

More and more playwrights are also taking to the literary stage with their powerful, bold texts. A smooth transition between related disciplines is the focus of a new series: Literature Theater explores, is pilot.

This is a joint project between the Literaturhaus St. Gallen and the Theater St. Gallen.

The German dramatist Wolfram Lotz will be a guest on the second LooT evening. This fulfills a long-cherished wish of drama director Jonas Knecht, who has already enthusiastically entertained the St.Gallen audience in recent years with the programming of the plays "Some messages to space", "The ridiculous darkness" and "The end of Iflingen". into the madness of Lotz's cosmos. During his visit, Lotz reads from a new work entitled Holy Scripture. In doing so, he undertook a radical self-experiment: namely, to capture life as completely and directly as possible, using all literary means. For a year he logged every day, from morning to night. In addition to the reading, there will be a discussion between Wolfram Lotz and Jonas Knecht, moderated by our acting dramaturgy team. Anja Tobler, Birgit Bücker and Anna Blumer present excerpts from "The Ridiculous Darkness", which Jonas Knecht staged as a scenic concert in the LOK in December 2020.
