April 1: Stephen Sondheim Announces Reworking Of Roundabout's MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG

The legendary Broadway flop's off-Broadway revival will be re-worked to allow changes that directors have been hoping to work with for years.

Stephen Sondheim and Fiasco Theatre Company in partnership with Roundabout announced major changes to the production, being allowed for the first time since the show became a legendary flop in 1981 on Broadway.

"It was 1981, we were stoned out of our mind..." said Sondheim.

For the first time, instead of being presented backward, the show will be re-worked to be staged in chronological order. Check out the video for more information!

MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG features a book by George Furth, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, based on the original play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. Fiasco's production is directed by Fiasco Co-Artistic Director Noah Brody, with Music Direction & Orchestrations by Alexander Gemignani and Choreography by Lorin Latarro.

The company of six includes Fiasco Co-Artistic Director Jessie Austrian, Brittany Bradford, Fiasco company member Paul L. Coffey, Manu Narayan, Fiasco Co-Artistic Director Ben Steinfeld and Fiasco company member Emily Young.

MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG opened officially on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through April 14, 2019.
