BC/EFA Becomes An Official Charity Partner For New York City Marathon 2020

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has been announced as an official charity partner of this year's historic 50th anniversary edition of the New York City Marathon on November 1, 2020.

Runners can now apply to represent the organization in a coveted marathon spot.

A limited number of guaranteed entries are available for those interested in running and fundraising for Broadway Cares. Learn more about the application process and apply at broadwaycares.org/marathon2020. Applying to represent Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the few remaining options of securing a spot in this year's marathon.

In its 50 years, the TCS New York City Marathon has grown from a local road race held entirely in Central Park to the largest marathon in the world. The run includes more than 50,000 runners, from the world's top professional athletes to runners of all ages and abilities. Participants from more than 125 countries tour the diverse neighborhoods of New York City's five boroughs - Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan before crossing the finish line in Central Park.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. By drawing upon the talents, resources, and generosity of the American theater community, since 1988 Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has raised more than $300 million for essential services for people with AIDS and other critical illnesses across the United States.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is the major supporter of the social service programs at The Actors Fund, including the HIV/AIDS Initiative, the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative and the Samuel J. Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts. Broadway Cares also awards annual grants to more than 450 AIDS and family service organizations in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., providing lifesaving medication, healthy meals, counseling and emergency assistance.
