Laura Benanti Joins Cast of WHAT IS LIFE WORTH Starring Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci

Laura Benanti has been cast in the true-life biographical drama What Is Life Worth, according to Deadline. The film, which stars Michael Keaton and Stanley Tucci, is directed by Sara Colangelo and will begin production this month.

Max Borenstein's Black List script is based on Kenneth Feinberg's memoir. Feinberg, a powerful DC insider lawyer, was put in charge of the 9/11 Fund. In almost three years of pro bono work on the case, he fought off the cynicism, bureaucracy and politics associated with administering government funds to victims' families - and in doing so, discovered what life is worth.

Benanti will play Karen Abate, the widow of a New York City firefighter who died in 9/11 and turns up at Feinberg's office with her three kids to tell him her story.

Benanti returned to Broadway this autumn as Eliza Doolittle in Lincoln Center's acclaimed revival of "My Fair Lady." Benanti was also recently seen onstage opposite Amy Schumer in Steve Martin's hit Broadway play, Meteor Shower.

On coming to London, Laura said "I truly could not be more excited to perform in London for the first time this summer; It's been a bucket list item of mine for so long. And I've been practicing my English accent for months now, thanks to My Fair Lady, so I can't wait to try it out on some real Brits! (Just kidding I promise not to do that.)"
