Chicago Street Theatre Has Announced the Cast of BLACK COMEDY

Chicago Street Theatre has announced the cast of Black Comedy.

Synopsis: "A struggling sculptor and his fianceé are having a party with the hope that some of their guests will purchase his sculptures. After "borrowing" furniture from their neighbor to make their own flat more presentable, the main fuse blows, plunging the flat into darkness just before the guests arrive. Only the audience can see the frantic romp with unexpected visitors and mistaken identities action that ensues in the dark."

Donna Rowland will be playing Miss Furnival. By day, she is an instructor of Communications at Perdue Northwest, Ivy Tech, Calumet College of St. Joseph and IUN. You may have seen her before as Mrs. Gorf in Sideways Stories from Wayside School, Baptista in Taming of the Shrew, Mrs. Gibbs in Our Town, Kaa in Jungle Book, Mrs. Sponge in James and the Giant Peach, or Ms. Teevee in Willy Wonka. She is a mother of six children, whom she has shared the stage with!

Thomas Olsen plays Colonel Melkett, the father of Carol Melkett. He recently retired from his position as a medical records supervisor, but continues his career on stage. He has most recently played Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street, Georges in La Cage aux Folles, Judge Omar Gafney in Harvey, and Narrator/Mysterious Man in Into the Woods. He has also sung in the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus for 17 years and the South Bend Chamber Singers for 8. He is a proud father of his 2 cats.

Anthony Majewski leads as Brindsley. He has previously played Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing, Gregory in Romeo and Juliet, Soldier 4 in Iphigenia 2.0 and Harley in The Less Than Human Club. He was also recently an extra on Chicago Med, and would like to thank the caterers for giving him really good food!

Erin Sharpe plays the "adorable fiancee" Carol Melkett. By trade, she teaches secondary education band and theatre- and also sponsors the Westville Academic Super Bowl Team! She has been in the cast for two previous CST shows: Sister Mary Ignacios Explains it All For You/Actors Nightmare and Boeing Boeing. She received a NIETF for Boeing Boeing (best performance by a featured actress in a play). She spends her spare time with her two cats and two dogs, and competitively reading against her BFF Emily.

Allison Granat plays the sassy Clea. She works as a freelance scenic painter, designer and prop master. From 2018-2019, she worked as the properties apprentice at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. You may have seen her last in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time here at Chicago Street Theatre. In her free time, she plays dungeons and dragons, writes, and spends time with her cat Charlie.

Nikki Ameling plays the boisterous Schuppanzigh. When she is not featured on stage, she is a paralegal with the Law Office of Jonathan Petersen in Munster, Indiana. You may have seen her before as Olive in Odd Couple Female Version, Nurse in Romeo & Juliet or in the roles she won Best Supporting Actress in the State of Indiana in 2004 in The Laramie Project. She is the mother of two wonderful boys, Drake and Gryphon, wife to an amazing husband, Joe, and an avid book reader who runs a monthly book club, "The Page Turners."

Mark McColley plays George Bamberger. Mark is enjoying his retirement and has been performing locally for years. "I auditioned unsuccessfully 6 times here before getting cast the 7th time in a non- speaking role in View From a Bridge." Most recently, he was seen in Mary Poppins.

John Irak IV is playing Harold. He has been featured as a wide range of characters- from playing a ghost busting mystery solving teenager to Penguin in a 60's Batman tribute show and "half a million roles in between." He aspires to bring animated characters alive as a voice actor.
