JCC Of Greater Columbus Announced Jewish Theatre Lab Auditions

Gallery Players will host auditions for the inaugural year of Jewish Theater Lab, a staged reading series featuring emerging writers and new plays. Auditions at the JCC will be on Wednesday February 19th from 7:30-9:30pm and Thursday February 20th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm.

Giselle Siegel, Gallery Players Artistic Director, had this to say about what actors can expect by joining these productions, "Actors can expect to have a great experience bringing a new play to life. The process will be short but very collaborative and we will be digging into the text of the play and focusing on telling the story and becoming the characters authentically. We are also planning on staging the pieces in the Roth/Resler theater in a way that the space has never been used before."

With this being the inaugural series for the Jewish Theater Lab we are excited to bring a level of community involvement to the pieces. "Community members should audition because there are a variety of different roles for all ages and experience levels. The commitment is minimal and it is a great way to get a taste of acting without being in a full main stage production." Giselle goes on to reassure community members about auditions, "Auditions are really easy too - there is nothing to prepare - just reading selections from the script. "
