The CSO Presents THE RITE OF SPRING

CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov and the musicians of the Columbus Symphony will perform three works that will set the mind ablaze. Sinfonia (for Orbiting Spheres) is a work from Missy Mazzoli, composer in residence with the Chicago Symphony and one of classical music's fastest-rising composing talents. Octavio Vásquez's Widows of the Living and the Dead will feature the magnetic stage presence of virtuoso Galician bagpiper Cristina Pato. The program concludes with the revolutionary ballet that caused riots at its Paris premiere in 1913, The Rite of Spring.

The Columbus Symphony presents the The Rite of Spring at the Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $10 and can be purchased in-person at the CBUSArts Ticket Center (39 E. State St.), online at www.columbussymphony.com, or by phone at (614) 469-0939. The CBUSArts Ticket Center will also be open two hours prior to each performance.

Prelude - Prior to the Friday and Saturday night performances, patrons are invited to join Maestro Milanov for a 30-minute discussion at 7pm.

Postlude - Directly following the performances, patrons are invited to remain in the Ohio Theatre auditorium for a chamber music performance by Columbus Symphony musicians.
