Junior version of Sondheim classic's musical, INTO THE WOODS JR., will come to life on August 25th, 2019, at the USMAR ISMAIL THEATRE HALL, Jakarta. This production is arranged by RELASI NADA DUNIA (RND), a company offering training and education in the subject of performing arts. INTO THE WOODS JR. will be their inaugural public musical theatre performance.

INTO THE WOODS JR. is based on James Lapine (book) and Stephen Sondheim's (music and lyrics) 1987 hit INTO THE WOODS. It tells the intertwining story of different fairy tale characters - including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and more - meeting in the titular woods as they seek to fulfill their wishes. The junior version is edited to be more child-friendly both in story and difficulty of performance material.

Directing the production is theatre scriptwriter, actor, and director Venantius Vladimir Ivan. The actors are picked through an open audition process, with several coming from children enrolled in RND's programs. Rosana T.W., Head of Media Relation, stated that the cast are chosen primarily for their vocal prowess, with some acting ability to bring their performance together.

RND's INTO THE WOODS will run for two shows, starting on 13.00 and 17.00. The shows will have separate casts for each show. The cast for the first show include Emanuel Bryan as the Baker, Jesslyn as the Baker's Wife, Maria Prawitya Darati as the Witch, Dylan Suwarno as Jack, Naomi Hope Makmuri as Little Red Riding Hood, and Lilli Latisha Cinderella. Rounding up the cast are Keandra, Cynthia Nicole, Nadya Suwarno, Windy Fajriah, Brigita Michella, Bryan Edward, Oliver Naufal, Alegra, Fabiandra, and Josephyne Felice.

While the second show will have Ryan Chandra as the Baker, Claudia Lavina as the Baker's Wife, Andre Florenza as the Witch, Christopher Aristo as Jack, Ferencia Annabele as Little Red Riding Hood, and Angelica Christy. Other actors include Riviana Kayla, Caecilia Laura, Marsya Ananda, Alegra, Annabel Eirene, Bryan Edward, Oliver Naufal, Windi Fajria, Fabiandra, and Kayla Lavenia.
