Casting Announced For The Den Theatre's BLACKBIRD

The Den Theatre has announced casting for its revival of David Harrower's critically acclaimed drama Blackbird, directed by ensemble member Lia Mortensen.

The cast includes Haley Burgess and Mark L. Montgomery with Autumn Hlava.

Blackbird will play March 21 - April 26, 2020 at The Den Theatre (2A), 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Tickets are currently available at www.thedentheatre.com, in person at the The Den box office or by calling (773) 697-3830. The press opening is Tuesday, March 24 at 7 pm.

After spending time in prison for sexually abusing a minor, 56-year-old Ray has now changed his name, relocated and found a new job – with no one aware of his dark history. Una, the girl from Ray’s past, has been left with an utterly shattered life and only herself to try and pick up the pieces. Now 27, in search of healing and closure, she discovers where Ray works and shows up unannounced at his office to confront him. David Harrower’s Blackbird is a raw, real and unforgiving play that shines a light on sexual abuse, child molestation, abuse of power and the devastation that results in its wake.

The production team to date includes Jeffrey D. Kmiec (scenic design), Josh Prisching (lighting design), Greg Williamson (technical director), Kristine Ernie Urnikis (production associate) and Sarah Luse (stage manager).
