Fortyfivedownstairs' 2019 Program Receives 25 Green Room Award Nominations

fortyfivedownstairs is thrilled to announce that its 2019 program has received an incredible 25 Green Room Award nominations across three fields - Independent Theatre, Cabaret and Opera.

The Ghetto Cabaret, produced by fortyfivedownstairs, received 4 nominations:
Best Cabaret Production, Best Artiste for Evelyn Krape, Best Music Direction for Scott Griffiths, and Best Design for Dann Barber and Rachel Burke.

In the Independent Theatre field, The Year of Magical Thinking featuring Jillian Murray, and LOVE by Patricia Cornelius (both produced by fortyfivedownstairs), were also recognised in multiple categories. For The Year of Magical Thinking, Jillian received a nomination for Best Performer, and our own Andy Turner was nominated for Best Lighting Design. For LOVE, Susie Dee was nominated for Best Director, Patricia for Best Writing and Carly Shepherd for Best Performer.

We're also delighted to congratulate several productions curated by fortyfivedownstairs on their nominations. Lightning Jar Theatre received 6 nominations for Mr Burns: A Post-Electric Play, including Best Independent Production; Lyric Opera's Fly was nominated for 5 awards, including Best Opera Production; and Emma Mary Hall's World Problems scored 5 nominations, including Best Independent Production.

What wonderful news as we continue our 2020 program with another stellar production, the World Premiere of Daniel Keene's The Curtain, opening next week.
