Center for Performance Research Has Announced the 2020 Spring Movement Festival Participating Artists

Center for Performance Research has announced Jessica Nicoll & Laura K. Nicoll, Kalliope Piersol, MOLLY&NOLA, Oluwadamiare (Dare) Ayorinde, Sadi Mosko, and Valerius Productions as the 2020 Spring Movement Festival artists. Each artist will present their work twice over three evenings, from April 9 - 11 at 7:30pm. Through an open call submission process, three peer-artist panelists reviewed a large amount of applications to select only six finalists. The artists and works selected draw from a range of sources exploring the subtleties of identity, the limits of representation, and the porosity of truth.

"We are thrilled to be featuring such an exciting selection of choreographers in our 2020 Spring Movement Festival", says CPR Executive Director, Charlotte Farrell. "Our wonderful panelists carefully reviewed a large amount of applications from which the final six artists were selected. We are so thankful to everyone who applied, and honored to support the work of emerging choreographers working in the expanded field of dance and performance."

CPR's Spring Movement provides an opportunity for emerging and established choreographers to present works at various stages of development. Once a year in the Spring, CPR presents a festival of works by local and international emerging and established choreographers in dance and performance. Spring Movement features six choreographers and includes finished pieces and premieres of creative and unique collaborations with filmmakers, musicians, and visual artists. Artists apply through an open-application process and are selected by a peer selection panel.

All performances will take place at CPR's Brooklyn venue, located at 361 Manhattan Avenue. Tickets are $10 in advance and at the door, and $8.50 with valid IDNYC. More information is available at http://www.cprnyc.org/events/spring-movement-festival-2020/.
