Coral Springs Center For The Arts Will Present THE FOUR TOPS

The Coral Springs Center for the Arts today announced that legendary R&B superstars The Four Tops will be performing in concert in early April.

April 7 at 7 pm (Tuesday)
The Four Tops
With Special Guest Peter Lemongello, Jr.

The incomparable FOUR TOPS, formed in high school in Detroit, and were destined to spend the next four decades together as superstars, recording 24 top 40 pop hits. Their high energy show, packed with smooth moves, sweet harmonies and powerful vocals, will bring the audience back to a bygone era with the greatest music off all time. After signing with Chess Records and later with Columbia Records, The Four Tops toured with the Count Basie Band and Billy Eckstine, but it was not until they joined Berry Gordy's fledgling Motown label in 1963 that their career took off. Paired with the legendary writing/producing team of Holland-Dozier-Holland, the Tops helped shape and define the unforgettable Motown sound, with an extraordinary series of chart-topping hits, including Baby, I Need Your Loving, Ask the Lonely, Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch), It's the Same Old Song, Shake Me, Wake Me (When it's Over), Reach Out (I'll Be There, Standing in the Shadows of Love, Bernadette, Walk Away Renee, Still Waters (Run Deep, It's all in the Game, River Deep, Mountain High, Ain't No Woman Like the One I Got,

In 1983, the Tops returned to Motown and began decades of touring with The Temptations. They appeared in many TV specials, including MOTOWN 45 and several PBS concerts, including their 50th anniversary concert. Other career accolades include their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1990), induction into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame (1999), their designation by Rolling Stone magazine as #79 of the top 100 greatest artists of all time, and the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award (2009). After all these decades, The Four Tops remain the most entertaining quartet in pop music.

South Florida's own, Peter Lemongello, Jr. will open the show as Special Guest. As evidenced by his performances on American Idol and PBS' My Music, this is one of the most exciting young singer-dancers to emerge on the music scene in decades. He may have inherited his amazing singing voice from his famous father (the first to sell over one million albums on TV in 1976), but that's where it ends. No one brings back the 50s and 60s rock 'n' roll like Peter Lemongello, Jr.
