TEDxBroadway Online Submissions Are Now Open

Each year, the organizers of TEDxBroadway collectively spend thousands of hours curating the topics and speakers for the annual sold-old conference - all dedicated to asking, "What's the BEST Broadway can be?" In the interest of sharing a vast array of narratives that really move the industry forward, organizers are now accepting online submissions for its New Voices program.

"It all starts within the community," says Jim McCarthy, TEDxBroadway Co-Founder and CEO of Goldstar, "We turn to speaker alums, we have conversations with attendees, we track topics, trends, technological breakthroughs and we dig in to really consider why these things matter to moving the industry forward. And, while we have a substantial network with which to work, we also wanted a way to welcome speakers with extraordinary ideas who might not be on our radar screen so their voices could be heard too."

Since starting TEDxBroadway's New Voices program in 2018, thousands of submissions have poured in online from around the world. A total of six speakers have gone on to share their talks on the TEDxBroadway stage. Like, Marshall W. Mabry IV a 17-year old student from Georgia whose insight on "The Intersectionality of Black Boys and Shakespeare" moved and inspired the audience.

"It's absolutely inspiring to go over all the submissions, so many of them are really fantastic,'" says Damian Bazadona, TEDxBroadway Co-Founder and Founder of Situation Interactive. "But, the standouts typically are those with a truly original idea that are also the right person to tell this story."

With a well-established history of presenting a wide variety of speakers from theater, academics, government, hospitality, sciences, technology and more, TEDxBroadway organizers will once again expand their scope even further this year to find new voices for the upcoming 9th annual event on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at New World Stages.

TEDxBroadway speaker submissions are now being accepted at https://www.tedxbroadway.com/application.

While dedicated to asking "What's the BEST Broadway Can Be?," organizers are seeking speakers who can contribute to the overall mission of the day, but topics are not strictly limited to theater. The deadline for submissions is March 29, 2020. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of past TEDxBroadway speakers and the organizing team.

Interested attendees can purchase tickets at www.TEDxBroadway.com. Registration for the TEDxBroadway conference will begin at 1p.m. on Tuesday, October 13. Tickets are $100.
