Junior Theatre Will Bring the San Diego Premiere of NAKED MOLE RAT GETS DRESSED to the Stage

Wilbur is just like all the other naked mole rats - naked - until the day an ordinary hat fell into his tunnel. Wilbur dares to try it on and his life changes forever! Junior Theatre will present the San Diego debut of Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience, based on the popular children's book by Mo Willems, February 28 - March 8 at the Casa del Prado Theatre. Tickets are $16 for Adults, $14 for Youth, Seniors, & Military. Visit this link for tickets and more information.

Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed is a celebration of individuality. Naked mole rats are supposed to be, well, naked - but what if they aren't? When protagonist Wilbur discovers clothes, the other naked mole rats judge him. Eventually, they realize that clothes aren't so bad, and even join in the fun. This cheeky musical teaches us the importance of being yourself and wearing it well.

"I have always been enthralled by the naked mole-rats at the zoo. When I heard the title of this show, I knew I had to direct it. It's about being confident enough to be who you are, in your own skin," says Director, Teri Ang.

"As I started to research naked mole rats, I discovered that they really do ROCK! From how they don't drink water to that they may hold the secret to curing cancer, they are amazing creatures. I am now an even bigger fan of naked mole rats, and when you see this show I hope you'll become a fan too."

Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience is based on the popular book by three-time Caledecott Honoree Mo Willems. Our production is Directed by Teri Ang, Choreographed by Ricardo Valenzuela, with Script & Lyrics by Mo Willems and Music by Deborah Wicks La Puma.

Performances are at 7pm on Fridays and 2pm on Saturdays & Sundays, February 28 - March 8. Pajama night is Friday, March 6 at 7 pm - wear your jammies and take home a prize! Additionally, we will have a sensory-friendly performance on Saturday, March 7 at 11am and ASL-interpreted performance on Saturday, March 7 at 2pm.

All Junior Theatre productions are performed in Balboa Park's historic Casa del Prado Theatre, at the corner of Old Globe Way and Village Place. Tickets are $14 - $16. For tickets and more information, visit juniortheatre.com, or call the box office at (619) 239-8355.
